Day 1: Ouarzazate » Ait Ben Haddou » Skoura » Valley of Roses » Dades Valley
Start your journey from Ouarzazate and visit the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a 13th-century fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage site. This picturesque location has been featured in films such as “Gladiator,” “Sahara,” and “The Kingdom of Heaven.” Continue to the oasis of Skoura and visit the well-preserved Kasbah Amridil. Travel along the route of the thousand kasbahs and the Valley of the Roses, arriving at the Dades Valley with its spectacular landscapes. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a riad.
Day 2: Dades Gorges » Todra Gorges » Trafaoute » Ramlia » Ouzina Desert
After breakfast, leave the Dades Valley and head towards the Todra Gorges, a 14 km long valley with steep walls. Take a walk to enjoy the formations and scenery. Continue south, following the old track of the Rally Paris Dakar, to reach the village of Ramlia and the Ouzina Desert. Ouzina is a Berber village near the Algerian border. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the Riad Ouzina TGM.
Day 3: Ouzina Desert » Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, visit the village of Ouzina, including the common oven and village gardens. Meet an authentic nomadic family and learn about their lifestyle in the desert. Travel to Erg Chebbi in the Merzouga Desert via the old track of the Rally Paris Dakar. Pass through the village of Khamlia, home to the black people of southern Africa, and enjoy lunch with “Pizza Bereber” and Gnawa spiritual music. Ride camels to your camp while watching the sunset over the great dunes of Erg Chebbi. After dinner, enjoy a traditional Berber music show under the stars. Spend the night in a fully equipped traditional nomad tent.
Day 4: Merzouga » Rissani » Nkob » Draa Valley » Ouarzazate
Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, start the journey back to Ouarzazate through Rissani, the origin of the Alaouite dynasty. Pass through the Berber villages of Alnif and N’Kob, and travel through the Draa Valley to Agdez, where you will have lunch. Continue the journey, arriving in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon, with enough time to catch your flight if needed.
