After breakfast, dedicate the day to exploring the Merzouga region. Visit incredible sites such as sand dunes, a wild lake, mines, fossil areas, and fabulous oases. Start by driving off-road to visit an ancient eyeliner mine. Then, visit nomads in their handmade woven tents and learn about their lifestyle while enjoying Berber tea. Next, head to Khamlia village to enjoy Gnaoua music and dancing performances. The inhabitants of Khamlia originate from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After lunch in a restaurant, take a stroll in the palm tree grove and visit the wild lake of Merzouga, also known as Flamingos Lake.
In the afternoon, switch to camels and cross the sandy desert, stopping on top of a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Continue to the luxury camp, where you can enjoy Berber drums music and dance around the campfire under the vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.
Day 3: Merzouga Dunes » Erfoud » Midelt » Cedars Forest » Ifrane » Fes
On the final day, wake up early to contemplate the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. After breakfast, return on camels to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. Leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a major trading center in the region. After a stroll in Rissani Souk, continue to Erfoud and visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. Drive along the Ziz river and stop for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. After lunch in Midelt, continue to the cedars forest, where the Barbary Macaques live. Feel free to feed them while wandering in the forest. Visit Ifrane, known for its low temperature, snow, and alpine-style houses, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Finally, drop off at the airport or your accommodation in Fes, concluding your tour.
