A 10 day Trip from Marrakech along the Kasbahs Trail. Immerse yourself in the genuine Moroccan culture and interact with the residents of isolated villages. This excursion is a fusion of the rich history of the center of Morocco and the breathtaking landscapes.

This 10-day journey commences and concludes in Marrakech, traversing the High Atlas mountains, their captivating landscapes, and Berber villages. As you continue south, you will reach the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a renowned Kasbah in Morocco that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

This desert tour  in Marrakech will take you through the Todra Gorge, a narrow corridor characterized by dramatic cliffs, picturesque vistas, and earthen houses. It is also an opportunity to embark on a camel excursion across the sand dunes to a Bedouin camp, where you will spend the night in the eerie silence of the desert.

You will have the opportunity to interact with nomads in the Hamada “black desert,” as well as gain insight into the local culture and environment. Subsequently, you will visit the fortified city of Fez, which is home to the magnificent Kasbah Gate. And there is still so much more to come.

Day 1: Welcome to Marrakech

Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your hotel or Riad. Explore the main sights of Marrakech, including Jamma el Fna square, Kotubia mosque, souks, and palaces. Visit the new part of the city called Gueliz and the Menara gardens. Overnight in Marrakech with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2: Marrakech » Ait Benhaddou » Ouarzazate » Dades Gorges

Drive through Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains to reach Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, a UNESCO world heritage site. Continue towards Roses valley, known for its annual “Festival of Roses.” Arrive in Dades Gorges and stay overnight in a local hotel.

Day 3: Dades Gorges » Todra Gorges » Erfoud » Merzouga Sahara

Drive towards Todra Gorges and walk in the narrow canyon. Continue through Ziz valley to reach Erfoud, famous for its fossil products. Visit a local fossil factory and shop. Drive to Rissani and visit the local souk. Reach Merzouga and start your camel ride into the desert dunes. Overnight in desert tents with dinner and Berber music around the campfire.

Day 4: Explore Merzouga Desert & Visit a Nomad Family

Spend the day exploring the Merzouga desert. Try sand-boarding, ski in the dunes, and explore the area by 4×4. Visit Khamlia village, famous for its music. Enjoy the sunset at the dunes and spend the night in Berber tents with local music and a tasty dinner.

Day 5: Merzouga » Erfoud » Ziz Valley » Midelt

Watch the sunrise in the desert and ride camels back to the hotel. After breakfast and a shower, drive towards Rissani and Erfoud. Continue to Midelt in the Atlas mountains and stay overnight in a local hotel.

Day 6: Midelt » Azrou Cedar Forest » Ifrane City » Fes 

Explore Midelt and drive to Azrou and Ifrane, a famous ski resort. Continue to Fes and stay overnight in a local hotel.

Day 7: Fes Guided Tour

Enjoy a guided tour of Fes, visiting the Fontaine Ennajarine, Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, and the Karawiyyin Mosque. Visit the tannery and the ceramics cooperative to see traditional Moroccan crafts. Spend the afternoon exploring the medina before having dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in a local riad/hotel.

Day 8: Fes » Chefchaouen (The Blue Pearl)

Drive from Fes to Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains. Explore the medina in Chefchaouen and stay overnight in a local hotel with dinner.

Day 9: Chefchaouen » Rabat » Casablanca

Drive to Rabat, the capital, and explore the main sights and attractions. Continue to Casablanca, the largest Moroccan city, and stay overnight.

Day 10: Casablanca » Marrakech

Visit the main attractions and monuments in Casablanca, including Hassan II Mosque. Drive to Marrakech, concluding your 10-day trip from Marrakech.
